Can someone help me make a texture pack that removes the armour model of a chestplate?

im trying to remove a texture that replaces my own hand in first person. but when i make it invisible my own hand dissapears as well. i have tried pretty much all i can try for as much as i know about this subject. so please help me if you have any idea on how to solve this.
