Crying Obsidian Tears Texture

I changed the crying obsidian texture to be more red but the tears are still purple. I’ve looked through the model files of both the block and the texture and I’m not sure how to get the tears to match the texture. 
So, how do I change the color of the tears for crying obsidian?
