World Map Modeling?

Sooo- I created a script which imports models in BlockBench to an item model as a scaled down model with the same relativity, which allows me to import them into Minecraft without further problems. (Minecraft has a 3x3x3 block for it, you cannot simply make a bigger item model) Is there any other, more efficient ways to model a map in Blockbench/make a custom block... without me creating 1000+ entities? Like, is what I did actually efficient or no?
