couldnt replace vanilla texture

so i did just like some tutorial on youtube i have my .jem model and i made it have the vanilla texture
and just like in the tutorial i replaced vanilla texture (yes i did paste in the right directory) but for 
some reason model is having a vanilla texture, even though i replaced it. 
version 1.17.1
