Crafting recipe using a golden/chainmail helmet

I'm currently creating custom recipes to create hats with custom models. I have different stats on the hats based on the helmet type used. Everything works perfectly fine, except for the golden and chainmail variants. The recipes just do not seem to work or show up at all. (I have all recipes unlocked so this is not the issue) I hope to get some help with figuring this out.
