Custom items for Custom recipes

im working on a weapons datapack and i am trying to make it so this new ore i added can be used to craft a new sword. But theres a problem with making a custom item using a datapack. It is that you cant actually make a new item, i just used an echo shard and used item model and custom data and stuff to make it feel like a new item. But in recipes, theres no way to specify that its an echo shard with data. So please any help anyone.
