Getting a block column to hang from a ceiling?

Hi all, I've previously made block columns work before on the surface. However, I am struggling to make one hang from a surface/ceiling (in this case, hanging moss). What sort of conditions would be needed in the placed feature settings to pull this off?
Currently using mud as a placeholder in the image, same with the -1 value.
