what entity do i use as a volleyball

so what i have right now is that there is armor stand with the tag "stand" and if i am near it and use a carrot on a stick it flings into the direction i am looking, representing how you play volleyball irl. The armor stand is meant as just a test object, now i need to replace it with something that resembles a volleyball (is 1x1) and doesnt interfiere with the usage of the carrot on a stick (if i right click the armor stand with the stick nothing happens)
