Custom Structures DP doesn't work

I've tried everything, I followed the tutorial on mc wiki, I watched a video but it still doesn't work. 
I can /place structure and the datapack is valid but if I /locate structure then the error message is "No structure of type example:red_l found nearby". What did I fo wrong? (and yes I installed the datapack in the world creation before generating the world)
