Best Structure Settings for The Nether

I've been trying to generate structures in the nether and have been finding a lot of difficulty, with them just floating mid air, generating above the bedrock layer, generating IN the bedrock layer, etc.
Does anybody already know the best available structure settings for something generating in the nether?
I can't take inspiration from nether fossil or nether portal structures as both are hardcoded, and the bastions and fortresses generate at predetermined heights.
