Teleport command to custom dimension not working?

I'm fairly new to datapacks and am following a ton of tutorials, but I'm having a problem where I can't teleport to my custom dimension.  My path is 
data//dimension/.json, and for some reason that does not prompt a teleport option to my custom dimension via /execute.
