new with the dimensions

Good afternoon, I'm doing a project with datapacks, basically it consists of a dimension quite similar to an overworld of floating islands but with a lower range of biomes and without generating terrain so I can make floating structures appear that can only appear in certain biomes, I'm doing this in minecraft 1.20. 1 forge, basically my problem is with the json... although the documentation is very complete, I really struggle with some concepts and I don't fully understand some, my biggest problem is the dimension format and the noise_settings. I'm not looking for something unrealistic like someone taking the time to teach me, we all have things to do and I'm not looking for YouTube videos of previous or higher versions, I'm looking for advice, options, maybe projects similar to mine or clearer documentation on all this.
