Limited Crafting regarding the Mace and other Custom Items for an SMP

Is there a way to make it so something can only be crafted once? Or only crafted again once the original crafted item has been destroyed? On that note is it also possible to prevent a loophole that would possibly allow auto crafters to craft an item when I want it to not be possible?
