Dragon Egg protection for an SMP

Is there anyway to implement some of the following?
Make the egg invulnerable (item form), can't be blown up, burned, cactus-ed?, or voided.
Or if it can be destroyed, is there a way to detect when it has been destroyed?
Is it possible to prevent the egg from being put in the ender chest.
If the egg is placed down or dropped is there a way to track that and where it is?
