Beard Box/Thin bug with hybrid overground/underground structures.

Afaik this is a known issue, but is there any accepted workaround? I am working on a structure that is a pyramid surrounded by a village, which benefits from using beards, but the pyramid also links to an underground catacombs system, which causes beards to spawn at the surface level, well above where the actual blocks from the template are being placed, this leads to some weird gen that doesn't look great.

I've tried processors but those appear to operate only on template blocks, not beards spawned by the template. Is there a way to separate these structures into 2, to avoid giving the underground parts a beard? Can structure blocks be used inside templates? Last resort will be messing around with the beardifier on the server side, but hoping there is some alternative
