I need help 2 understand datapacks

Hello, Im trying to make a map half rpg half lore-based. And with that map I want to make custom swords, but to make them I need datapacks. I dont understand how they work and how to create them. So im here to look for someone who will help me or teach me into datapacks ( or how to code. ) please add me or dm me if ur interested in helping me 😭
