Creating a datapack workaround between Tinkers Construct and Minecolonies to allow tool use (1.20.1)

Hello! I recently started messing around with datapacks a few days ago to instruct my minecolonists to make new tools for my own use. This is on a modified version of All The Mods 9, on a server I run for friends. One of my friends wants to be a tool dealer to local colonies and currently we're running into problems with it, but I'm worried that neither the tinker's construct team or the minecolonies team have the time to get into the weeds and think of creative solutions, so I came here, a neutral place. It's an interesting problem. Tinker's construct allows you to build modifiable tools and weapons and whatnot and it kinda/sorta works with minecolonies. For his own, he made a pickadze (pickaxe/shovel hybrid) and it worked up until his builder tried to mine any ores with it, where it wouldn't register. This is a separate problem then the one I want to solve but it's interesting and possibly relevant. The one I'm trying to solve is that he made me two normal pickaxes with obsidian heads that should be able to mine up to a diamond tier. My minecolonists that needed them genuinely used them for awhile, but eventually stopped. Weirdly enough, they had different durabilities when they eventually stopped registering so they were definitely used and it wasn't presumably something kicking in after a set durability loss. I tried to repair one to test if that fixed it, but it didn't. I tried to restart the server after taking them away to see if that would do the trick. Again, no dice. My theory that I'm sitting on is if I can somehow override the toolhead/pickaxe tags (if you search for a pickaxe in JEI it will show you several pickaxes made of one material from Tinkers.) I can convince the game that they're actually filling the role of the same kind/level of tool to fix it. I asked in the Minecolonies server about it, but they seemed pretty locked in to the idea that it wouldn't work, but I don't think they were taking into account that the tools worked in the first place and I want to know if I can somehow restore that state. If it isn't doable that way, then maybe someway else? Thank you guys.
