Need help

So i made a data pack with no log errors and is recognised but i realised it only works using commands. Recently i made a data pack to make dragon eggs spawn in chests and dungeons and when i go to them i find no eggs but when i command "/loot give @p loot minecraft:chests/abandoned_mineshaft" it works. What should i do?
