Having a hard time updating my data pack from 1.20.3

I used to be good with data packs, up until they changed how NBT worked and turned it into components. The last version I published was in October 2023 and I don't know how/where to start to update it for 1.20.4. For example, I can't even get the tick function to run, even though I changed the folder names to (I think) be plural/not plural correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated
