function doesn't run the next function!!! 1.21.4

so I am making a datapack, and I have a function with a click component tellraws in it, which runs other functions. Those functions run other functions also having click component tellraw commands. my problem, comes when you click the second tellraws. those tellraws run the functions i tell them to, but inside of said functions, i have them run a new function keeping the chain, but it ends the chain there. Sorry if this is confusing, and if you want clarification, I will try and help. Pls ping with response.
