Need help with netherite recipes.

Im in the process of making 3 new stick types for tools which give them a boost in some way. But im encountering an issue where the netherite texture will be overwritten during smithing a diamond tool to a netherite one. How do i fix that?
How would i make my new tools work with Netherite smithing table transformation?
