Help with functions

This might be a very stupid question but I have 0 experience with functions in datapacks and im curious why this is failing to load? It's a very simple function which trys to add an ammount to 1 scoreboard value equal to another. It says theres something missing from the first line, but I was told it was supposed to be formated as a normal command scoreboard players add @s points 1 scoreboard players remove @s points_earned 1 execute if score @s points_earned matches 1.. run function ixelz:gainpoints scoreboard players add @s points_earned 1
