Making multiple recipes for the same item

So i am making a couple recipe tweaks for a modded server that I'll be playing on with some friends and I was wandering is there a way to add a recipe to an item that already has one? the item in question already has a recipe but I'd like to add a more expensive alternative for later in the game. How would I go about it?
