I need a lot of help with noise settings

I've been messing around with world generation and I got quite used to trial-and-erroring some basic values tp customise the amplified preset, but I've found that my options in the dimension file are rather limited, so I looked into noise settings and my god what even am I looking at. Can someone explain to me, or at least point me to some understandable documentation about how to properly fiddle with the noise router?
