how to turn put value into a macro?

I'm using this command /execute store result score @s titan_id run data get storage gg_aot:macro titan.id
which I've seen other people use, but when using it in my datapack, the function doesn't run, and in the overworld just typing it in doesn't store my score either, it just tells me what was previously there (which was a test value)
