I can't revoke my crafting recipe "advancement" to make custom recipes/items

so when I do run the datapack, craft the item the first time. it works, but next time the advancement pops, but doesn't convert the Knowledge book into the intended item, and third time no advancements, just another knowledge book and I don't know what isn't working.. any help?
