changing biome rarity

i have 2 custom biomes (from Apollo's underground rivers), and i was was wondering how i can make these biomes appear more commonly (by default they usually spawn 2000+ blocks from spawn)
these biomes appear next to really common vanilla biomes such as forests or mountains, so there should be no reason why they are so rare
