how to make vsc ignore certain errors in code?

So i want my datapack to be compatible with both 1.17.1+ and 1.16.5 verisons, this is hwy i have functions new and old versions, how can make vsc ignore "errors" in 1.16.5 functions, not causing new errors with 1.17.1?
