healing a third of damage dealt.

1.19.2. i already have a custom item but i need it to heal 1/3 of the damage the (diamond sword) deals. how would i do this?
i'm assuming scoreboard stuff but there is no /sethealth or /heal and there isnt a scoreboard objective death (i think)
